This post walks through the process I used, and the things which were were slowing down my code. I prepared an update to the code over the course of a month, and achieved a speedup of 142 times over the original code.Ī lot of the information that I could find online about PHP performance was very outdated, so I decided to write a bit about what I’ve learned. It has always been a minor performance bottleneck, and I recently decided to do something about it. I’ve had a PHP wikitext parser as a dependency of some of my projects since 2012.
